Amidst the bugs and issues that continue to bother users of Google's latest Android OS, the price of the company's Nexus 6 smartphone has been slashed by a few bucks.

When consumers are seeking for the latest Nexus smartphone, they usually turn to Google Play Store that offers the handsets for $649 and $699. However, there are retailers offering the phones for less. Currently, Expansys USA offers the Nexus 6 for $20 or $30 less than its regular price. The 32 GB variant costs $619 while the 64 GB model is priced at $679. The discount is available in both Cloud White and Midnight Blue color options.

Flipkart is also offering the discounted Nexus 6. The prices are in Indian currency, rupees, with the 32 GB and 64 GB of the Google Nexus 6 costing 43,999 and 48,999 rupees, respectively.

Aside from retailers, U.S. carriers are also offering the deals on Nexus 6 smartphones. T-Mobile slashed $48 off the handset by simply using the coupon code NEXUS6DEAL. The code can be used to purchase the 32 GB and 64 GB versions of the Midnight Blue variant. Thus, the 32 GB costs $601 and the 64 GB costs $651.

Meanwhile, the latest Nexus handset from Google is coming to the largest U.S. network, Verizon, this month. Reports are pointing to Feb. 26 as the day that the handset would be available under the carrier.

Although the aforementioned deals are not big, Google's Nexus 6 is quite an elusive handset that now rarely appears in Google Play Store. Google Chief Financial Officer Patrick Pichette confirmed that there is a restraint in the supply of the handset.

"While the Nexus 6 was very well received as a new phone, we had real issues and were unable to secure sufficient inventory to meet the demand that we had forecasted," Pichette told Android Central

The Google Nexus 6 smartphone was released in October and comes with the following specs and features:

  • 6-inch screen display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution
  • 2.7 GHz quad core Snapdragon 805 SoC
  • Adreno 420 graphics co-processor
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 13 MP rear camera
  • 3220 mAh battery
  • 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop OS
