Many Android users would prefer to have the stock Android operating system rather than having a layer of user interface (UI) on their phone. Google, being the creator of Android, wants everybody to experience the pureness of their mobile operating system.

Motorola is another company that is known not to mess with the mobile operating system as well. Fortunately, both companies are highly speculated to be releasing smartphones very soon, the Nexus 2016 for the search engine giant and Moto X 2016 for the Illinois-based phone manufacturer.

Processor and Memory

Both phones are expected to be incorporating the latest processor in the market, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. The two phones are also said to be containing 4GB of RAM, at least, since many premium phones are all coming out with the same amount of memory. New mid-range phones are already sporting 2GB of RAM.

There is also a possibility that an announced processor may be incorporated into any of these two phones. The Moto X is rumored to be having a more powerful processor upon its release.

Screen Display and Storage

The Moto X 2016 is said to be sporting a 5.5-inch AMOLED display panel with a Quad HD resolution and with Shattershield protection. It will also have 32GB of internal storage and will be expandable via a microSD slot, GSM Arena reported.

The Nexus 2016 will also have a 5.5-inch screen and a Full HD resolution. A pressure-sensing technology is also rumored to be incorporated onto the screen, a new feature said to be introduced with Android N, reported Ubergizmo.

Internal storage may be offered in several variants, namely 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB. Incidentally, Nexus phones are known not to offer any storage expansion.

Camera and Other features

A 16MP main camera is expected to come with the Motorola smartphone, as well as a 2,600 mAh battery. A flatter and thinner handset design and an all-metal housing are also rumored to be with the phone.

A 12MP main camera, 5MP secondary camera and USB Type C port are claimed to be coming to the handset of Google.

Both phones are expected to cost about US$400. The Moto X 2016 might be unveiled in June while the Nexus 2016 is expected to see the light of day at Google's upcoming developer conference, I/O, happening on May 18 to 20.
