'God really works': Girl sent flying into the air by speeding car says she owes her life to one man's prayer

Amazing divine miracles sometimes happen during life-and-death struggles. One such miracle happened last Saturday in Greenwood, Indiana, when a 14-year-old girl was struck by a speeding vehicle, tossing her into the air before crashing to the ground.

Tyler Burton, a member of the Vineyard Community Church in Greenwood, was with a group of fellow church workers passing out bottled water to visitors at the Freedom Festival when he sensed that he was about to be called for a higher purpose, according to a WISH TV report.

True enough he heard a loud screeching noise and saw a girl "flying in the air" after she was struck by a Jeep at a street intersection.

Burton quickly sprang into action, yelling at passing vehicles to stop as he rushed towards the fallen girl, later identified as 14-year-old Shyanna Cummings.

"While I was running up to her, she was seizing and twitching, laying on the road, her head propped up on a curb," he told WISH TV.

After hollering for people to call 911, Burton started praying for the girl.

"I just instantly got down and I put my hand on her head and I just started praying," he said.

Some people tried to pull him away from the girl, grabbing his hand, but he just kept praying.

Then, to everybody's surprise, Cummings sat up, "and it was like she was fine," Burton said.

The day after, Burton visited Cummings at the hospital where she was rushed to check on how she was doing. "Turns out, she's walking away from this whole thing with just some minor fractures and a torn ACL," he said.

Recalling what happened, Cummings said she only felt "the initial hit" but immediately lost consciousness after that, CBN News reported.

Cummings thanked Burton for saving her life. "I don't know where I'd be without...if he didn't pray for me," she said.

Her mom Susie also was likewise full of thanks for what Burton did. "I love my daughter and I'm glad she's here. I'm so thankful for Tyler Burton," Susie said.

Cummings said the doctors were hopeful that her cast will be removed before her first day of high school in the next few weeks. She was also told that her torn ACL and deep cuts are expected to heal fully.

"I believed in God, but now I know He really works," Cummings said.
