"Girl Meets World" season 4 is yet to be announced by Disney Channel, and it is feared that it will never be as the network is rumored to have pulled the plug on the show already.
The series is down to its final four episodes that will be aired up to January next year, but Disney remains silent about a renewal for the "Boy Meets World" spinoff.
Lead star Rowan Blanchard took it upon herself to invite fans to campaign for "Girl Meets World" season 4, which did not disappoint as #SaveGirlMeetsWorld posts came flooding in seconds including co-star August Maturo, who retweeted an article about the call for the renewal.
"So important [for our generation] to be a voice of hope [and] change [and] learn from each other. Hoping we continue to have that chance," the young star said pertaining to "Girl Meets World."
Blanchard's call to make the renewal happen suggests that Disney is likely to ax the show rather than give it another year. Whether or not the call of fans will change the network's mind remains to be seen.
Back in July, Disney said that it was too early to discuss "Girl Meets World" season 4 with season 3 episodes spanning up to early next year.
"With episodes airing on Disney Channel into 2017, there's no news to share yet about a fourth season," the Disney representative told TV Line.
This suggested that the network might have some update on the series when the current season ends, and that might mean waiting for all the episodes to be aired.
Looking at the history of the "Girl Meets World" renewals, this is unlikely for Disney as it always announces new seasons before the current one even finishes.
The same can be said for the current season, which was renewed late November last year when the second season was six episodes away from its conclusion.
Meanwhile, the finale of "Girl Meets World" season 3 is titled "Girl Meets Goodbye," which many believe will also mark the last episode of the whole series.
Whether "Girl Meets World" season 4 will happen or not remains to be seen for now.
