Maya, Riley and the rest of the lovable gang from "Girl Meets World" season 2 won't be back for a new episode of the spinoff until next month. The upcoming episode will be titled "Girl Meets the New Year" and it will be the last one the show will air this year.

Carter Matt points out that if this installment will indeed be the last of the Disney Channel series for 2015, there won't be any Christmas special in the offing. The site noted that for last season, they had a holiday-themed episode, so it remains to be seen what December would look like for the show.

There's not much known about the upcoming "Girl Meets World" season 2 installment, although it is thought that it will see Riley and Maya work their way through middle school not just to finish it but to make lasting, memorable experiences out of it.

Notably, there will be at least four more episodes before the finale of the season, titled "Girl Meets Legacy," will air, so in this episode, viewers can expect the group to simply be one with the holiday and New Year cheer as the sitcom itself builds up to the season-ender.

Speaking of season-ender, Rowan Blanchard aka Riley recently talked about the "Girl Meets World" season 2 finale. The star teased that it will be "interesting," in the sense that her character and her friends will be aiming to imprint their legacy in middle school.

"Riley and Maya both know that going to high school will take their relationships to a new level, as dating is going to become a real thing, which puts everybody in an awkward position," Blanchard told TV Line.

The actress also opened up about the Maya-Lucas-Riley love triangle. She revealed that although her character vowed to shut down her feelings for Lucas and just give way to Maya, Riley still knows deep inside that she simply can't drop these feelings.

Girl Meets World" season 2 episode 25 "Girl Meets the New Year" airs Dec. 4 on Disney Channel.
