Myriad Pictures is planning to get "Resident Evil" star Milla Jovovich to play the lead role in the film adaptation of George R.R. Martin's collection of short stories. Screen Daily broke the news, saying that the role of the sorceress in the movie version of "In the Lost Lands" is being discussed with Jovovich.

Myriad's head and the film's executive producer Kirk D' Amico discussed the possibility of having the 39-year-old actress in the film.

"We are very excited to have Milla join this unique project from the creator of Game Of Thrones," the executive producer said, as quoted by Screen Daily. "We think that Milla's character is destined to become an iconic cinematic figure. We are also excited to bring this epic fantasy project to audiences on a wide release basis around the world."

All three of Martin's short stories focus on the role of a female character. The first one centers on the life of sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich), who journeys to a deserted wasteland called the Lost Lands to be able to acquire the magical gift of shape shifting into werewolf. However, the effect of pursuing her goal costs her more than she imagined.

The teaser for the film's plot also reads:

Meanwhile, warrior girl Sharra must fight a dragon that serves as the gatekeeper of seven worlds to reunite with her lost lover Kaydar. During this quest she meets the mysterious lord of a deserted castle, Laren Dorr, who seduces her so completely that she forgets her quest and stays with him, unaware that he is the real gatekeeper.

And in the futuristic tale Bitterblooms, a young barbarian girl gets spellbound by a lonely witch in a spacecraft, who shows her beauty and love, which turns out to be a net of lies and deceit."

Movie spoilers also claim that "Shameless" actor Justin Chatwin will be a part of the film, and it will be helmed and written by "The Pagan Queen" director Constantin Werner.
