British actress Maisie Williams may just have given away the release date for the highly-anticipated last season of HBO's popular fantasy drama series, "Game of Thrones." Previously, the news has been that the show would be airing sometime next year, but with no specific release date. Fortunately, fans will now be able to prepare accordingly, given that the season 8 of "Game of Thrones" has been revealed to air in April 2019.

In an interview with Metro UK, Williams, who plays Arya Stark, was asked about how long filming for an entire season usually lasts, to which the 20-year-old actress replied with very specific answers. As it turns out, it is currently projected that the series will wrap up shooting and production commitments by December this year. Williams went on further to say that HBO is planning to release the first episode of season 8 on April. The specific date was not revealed during the interview.

Even though Williams did not give a specific date, the interview was informative enough to give fans a very clear idea as to when to expect the next episode of "Game of Thrones." In addition to the revelation, she also stated that the behind-the-scenes crew will be hard at work in terms of editing the footage for the upcoming episodes. This means the creators will not be rushing the production to compromise the quality of each of the four episodes for season 8.

At this point, the cast and crew members are giving everything they have to deliver a great finale for the long-running show, and Williams feels like this is something that the show's loyal audiences truly deserve. It is important to mention that an April 2019 release is not surprising, since this is the usual time that they release their season premieres. The only exception was season 7, since it took the show runners a little bit longer to shoot the season.
