'Frozen 2' plot; release date set for 2018 - what will Elsa and Anna be up to next?

Frozen Disney

Although "Frozen" is the biggest Disney film in recent memory, its expected sequel has been hardly talked about ever since it was made official. According to Yahoo! Movies, there isn't much going on in the development process although screenwriting has already commenced.

Little is known about the sequel but rumor mills are untiringly chomping and churning about the possible plot for the film. Some think that Prince Hans will have a change of heart and will possibly be a love interest for the ice queen. As for the new villain in town, rumors go so far as to pit Elsa and the gang against a foe with the ability to control fire. On the other hand, many are convinced that the highly-anticipated animated film will be the perfect stage to tackle issues regarding feminism.

Disney has not dropped any confirmation on new cast members or the ones returning, but it is expected that the main characters will appear once more. Fans, needless to say, want to see Elsa and Anna back for more sisterly love and it looks like they won't be disappointed. Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, who played the fan-favorite characters, have reportedly confirmed their return, with the former saying that the film changed her life.

There is no question that the story that follows sisters Anna and Elsa just can't end with one film, especially one that spawned chartbusting merchandise and a short film titled "Frozen Fever." Pressure is on the production team to deliver a film that will be on par, if not better than the original, which still resonates to the world and still nets a growing fanbase two years after it hit the silver screen.

"Frozen 2" is far from being completed, however. It was just a few months ago when it was greenlit, and it is set to hit theaters in three years.
