Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight update: Date not set as bout still on the drawing board

News about Floyd Mayweather Jr. allegedly agreeing to fight Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao this coming May spread like wildfire the other day. However, all these were just presumptions meaning that nothing has been made official.

TMZ.com was the first to make the announcement which unfortunately was shot down as fast as it came up.

"MAYWEATHER VS. PACQUIAO DEAL DONE ... Fight Set" was the actual headline that came out but once sources from both camps came out in the open, it was revealed that the fight is most definitely set at this point.

At least not yet.

In fact, Mayweather was the one who put an end to all the so-called lies through Instagram. Mayweather is currently in the Caribbean and continues to enjoy his spare time exploring and traveling via his own personal jet.

Same goes for Pacquiao who has been mum at the moment as far as the fight is concerned.

Will it be announced at the 2015 Super Bowl?

And now the focus shifts to the 2015 Super Bowl, not because of the commercials, movie trailers or how the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks would meet up. Instead, fans speculate that the 'big announcement' between the two boxers would be made during the game.

While the thought does seem to make sense, all of these speculations are unofficial. It could be shown or then again maybe not. But what critics are justifying is that the Super Bowl is perhaps the perfect place to make the announcement.

Should that happen, the commercials, trailers and the game itself could suddenly get a back seat. But just the same, wait and see.
