Currently on the most recent list of most-anticipated gaming titles, the team behind "Final Fantasy XV" has been busy, making the rounds at different gaming conventions and shows. Recently, the title appeared at Sony and developer Square Enix's presentation at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
Meanwhile, building up the hype for its apparent 2016 release, title director Hajime Tabata again dropped hints and revealed new (although scant) information about "Final Fantasy XV."
In the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (via Siliconera and TechnoBuffalo), Tabata underscored that aside from the main protagonist Noctis, each of the three companions has their own skill set and hobbies crucial to the game. For example, Gladio is a camper and enjoys nature and will be the one to approach when exploring outdoors. He is also good at combat and will therefore be a linchpin for different fighting styles in the game. Meanwhile, Prompto likes to take pictures with his smartphone. Ignis, meanwhile, remains an enigma.
In addition to the three characters, it was also revealed that Luna is also central to the story and, together with her trusted bodyguard Gentiana, can tag along with the team as a guest combatant.
Aside from the different character details reveal, Tabata also hinted that when players choose to travel by car, they can listen to songs while driving. Although Tabata revealed that they initially allowed custom tracks to be used, strict copyright laws in Europe made them scrap the idea and instead installed driving soundtracks from older games in the "Final Fantasy" series.
Although Tabata and his team keep on dropping hints about the game, the specific release date for "Final Fantasy XV" still remains a mystery.
