'Final Fantasy 15' update: PC release may be coming as Square Enix job posting suggests MMO project

Recent job postings from Square Enix imply that the developer is putting together a team to work on "Final Fantasy XV," or at least an online spin-off of it.  Tech website Dual Shockers shared a copy of the PDF file that specifies all the career opportunities initially put forward by the game studio — some of which bearing titles like Senior Game Designer, Lighting Designer and a System Engineer. However, a new job posting suggests that a "Final Fantasy" project for PC is on the cards.

According to the Japanese ad, when translated using Google Translate, Square Enix is in search of an online game planner "of new online games related to FFXV planning, development, planner of management to advance the planning projects, proposals, and create specifications ..."

For an individual to qualify, the candidate must be motivated, and the job requires, among other things, "Online management, game production around billing, management experience, game of system design of knowledge interests in PC game, play experience."

Master Herald says that the job could be part of the production of a spin-off series, while Cinema Blend comments that it might deal with "microtransaction-focused multiplayer experience" rather than a PC port game. However, should the post deal with "Final Fantasy," it will most likely be an expansion pack for "Final Fantasy XIV" anchored in "Final Fantasy XV," the site stated. These claims, though, are still unfounded.

Meanwhile, "Final Fantasy XV" does not have a release date yet but it is expected to land on Xbox One and PS4. The upcoming role-playing game will have players step into the shoes of Prince Noctis, who will go across massive locales, towns and cities while battling bigger and more perilous enemies. Players will meet companions as they go through the quests. Cid, the mechanic is one. It was also revealed in previously released gameplay trailers that Prince Noctis or one of his buddies can be behind the steering wheel to travel around the open world. An airship will also be at their disposal.
