'Fallout 4' PS4 update: Bethesda Softworks still working on mod support

Developer Bethesda Games appears to be looking for workaround regarding Sony's refusal to release the "Fallout 4" mods to PlayStation 4 (PS4).

Sony denied bringing the highly-anticipated feature to the console, not with the way they work, which basically allows players to add just about anything on the game.

Bethesda shared the same feeling of disappointment with fans over Sony's decision and promised to do what they can to make the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods release still happen somehow.

Pete Hines, the vice president for public relations and marketing of Bethesda, has revealed on Twitter that they are looking for options when he was called out by a fan.

In reply, he said "I assure you we don't lack for alternatives. We are trying to do the most possible for PS4 players," suggesting that they are still finding ways to bring "Fallout 4" mods to the PS4. This is also what the company promised when they first announced the canceled launch.

"We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience," the blog post read.

It has been three weeks since Bethesda broke the news about the cancellation of the PS4 mods and almost three months since the supposed date of release to the console.

While PS4 players continue to wait, Xbox One gamers have been enjoying the mods for months now. This even led some to think that Bethesda inked a mods exclusivity deal with Microsoft, which Hines denied.

"That is absolutely not true. We would have released mods on PS4 some time ago if it was up to us. We were told no," the Bethesda executive clarified.

Microsoft was quick to use the lack of "Fallout 4" PS4 mods support to its advantage by promoting the Xbox One with Major Nelson saying, "Xbox One owners have been enjoying Fallout 4 mods since May."
