'Fallout 4' PS4 mods news: PS4 mods list continues to grow as release nears

As the long-awaited arrival of the "Fallout 4" mods for the PlayStation 4 becomes closer, more mods are being added to the list, to be ready for use when the feature arrives.

As of writing, there is a total of 130 mods for the PS4, and the list is expected to beef up as the release of the mods nears.

The number of mods doubled in just five days. Last week, the number of "Fallout 4" PS4 mods was no more than 68, as per iDigital Times.

Some of the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods in the catalog include a female combat veteran back story, zombie walkers, gorillas "for all" and an institute teleporter, among others.

Of course, the number is little compared to the more than 4300 mods for the Xbox One. These were added since the feature was released to the Microsoft console a few months back.

Meanwhile, all these PS4 mods should be available when Bethesda Game Studios and Sony activate the feature. However, there is no word on when that will happen.

Thankfully, the wait will soon be over as the developer is already working on releasing update 1.8 for "Fallout 4" for the PlayStation 4, the patch that will make the mods available to the console.

Bethesda has announced that the update for the console (along with the one for the Xbox One) is already in certification with the PC version already out.

"We're happy to announce Fallout 4's Creation Kit is updated today to support mods on PS4. Go to your Bethesda.net Launcher to update your Creation Kit," Bethesda announced on its blog last week.

It is believed that the "Fallout 4" PS4 mods should be here anytime soon. Sony will offer 1 GB limit for the mods, which is small compared to the Xbox One's 5 GB.

However, fans will not have to worry as the mods are only kilobytes (KB) in size, which means they are small enough and won't take up much space.

As for the mod creation in "Fallout 4" PS4 itself, users are not allowed to use external assets and will be limited to the assets provided in the Creation Kit.
