Experience the Passion in a new way this Easter

Premier Christian Media has teamed up with Church from Scratch to launch The Passion Experience during Holy Week.

From April 17 to 24 April 2011, subscribers will be able to experience the last week of Jesus' life, his death and resurrection in real time as it would have happened 2,000 years ago.

The story will unfold in first person storytelling through 30 messages delivered free straight to their Twitter account, inbox or mobile phone.

Different observers will give their own unique perspective of what they 'see' in short messages.

Churches will be able to direct their congregation to their own Passion Experience web page, which includes supporting materials such as banners and posters.

Church leaders will also have the facility to text all subscribers, informing them of their Easter Sunday service.

Peter Kerridge, chief executive of Premier Christian Media said: “What if your friend sent you a text message telling you that Jesus had just ridden into their town on a donkey - cheered by people who lay Palm leaves in front of him?

"The Passion Experience hopes to encourage those on the fringes of faith to engage fully with the Easter Story, and to experience the power and meaning of Christ’s sacrifice.

"With Bible literacy at low ebb The Passion Experience brings a fresh look to the Bible, and gives people the opportunity to hear the Gospel story in the context of a familiar, and modern medium. The story will never change - it’s just how we tell it that does.”
