The developers of "Driveclub" have spent a lot of time answering questions on Twitter about the server problems of the game since its release on Oct. 7, which prompted them to consider compensating players who experienced the server issues.
Director Paul Rutchynsky from Evolution Studios spent a lot of time explaining in his Twitter account that the online problems that the game has been facing since its debut are not connected with server capacity, and they all stemmed from the bugs lurking in the server code that the developer needs to address.
One of his recent tweets assured players that the developers have conducted performance testing before the launch, and they were confident about the servers back then.
When asked what exactly is wrong with "Driveclub," Rutchynsky shared, "We've got no limits to the amount of servers of the quality of hardware; it's purely down to the server code having some bugs."
The game developers also mentioned that they are not ruling out the option of providing some sort of compensation for early game adopters, which could be in the form of a complimentary DLC or the like.
On Monday, the studio announced in Driveclub's Facebook page that more players are finally able to access the game. The statement reads:
Continual upgrades to the DRIVECLUB servers are building a steady increase in performance, meaning that we're getting more and more players connected.
The next server update is coming within 24 hours and will mean we can start to switch on more of the online features, so that you will be able to play more of DRIVECLUB online.
We are sorry that we don't have more concrete news to share right now, but please be patient. We will have more information for you tomorrow."
Evolution Studios tried to fix all the online connectivity problems with "Driveclub" last week by shutting down some of the game's online features. They also opted to delay the release of the free PS Plus edition to ease down the server errors.
The next server update is scheduled on Wednesday, which could mean that some of the closed online features would finally be opened.
However, there are no news yet about the new release date of the free PS Plus edition.
