'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' updates: Goku Black added as character; Zamasu to be added via DLC?

Goku Black in "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" Bandai Namco

Bandai Namco Entertainment has provided the first look at Goku Black in action in the highly-anticipated fighting game sequel, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2."

The "Dragon Ball Super" villain is one of the most sought-after and most requested characters by fans stemming from the popularity of the Future Trunks arc in the anime.

In the gameplay trailer for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2," featuring Goku Black, the evil Son Goku twin fought at a fast pace and did not allow his opponent for a breather.

He is also captured brilliantly as how he is in the anime, which is an important aspect for fans. Being a last minute addition did not stop Bandai Namco from depicting him perfectly.

His addition to "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" proves that the fighting game is connected with "Dragon Ball Super" as both forms of media deal immensely with time-travel.

Goku Black, for the uninitiated, is actually an evil Universe 10 Kai in training named Zamasu, who used the body of Son Goku from another timeline to gain strength and attend to his hate of all mortals by killing them all.

It is unclear if "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will add Zamasu to the fold, but at this point, it looks like it his inclusion is already inevitable.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" might likely add Zamasu via downloadable content. As revealed by Bandai before, Goku Black was a last-minute addition to the game as production for the game was already well underway when the character's popularity blew up.

"In terms of additional story and more content from 'Super,' we would like to look into these possibilities after the launch as well since we are getting a lot of voices from fans," producer Masayuki Hirano told Crunchyroll.

"They want more characters, they want more story. And it terms of whether it would be a spoiler for western players, we're not sure when these will be out so we'll have to see," he went on to say.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 25 in North America and Oct. 28 in Europe.
