Donald Trump news: POTUS accuses Russia of helping North Korea rather than helping the U.S. mend the conflict

United States President Donald Trump accuses Russia of aiding North Korea to avoid international sanctions. Trump stated that the country is not doing its part in solving the international crisis involving the rogue nation.

During an interview with Reuters, the POTUS said, "Russia is not helping us at all with North Korea. What China is helping us with, Russia is denting. In other words, Russia is making up for some of what China is doing."

Earlier in December 2017, Trump reiterated that Russia needs to step up its game in solving the major conflict. Trump told reporters that he talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding North Korea and that he asked for his help. "He (Putin) said very nice things about what I've done for this country in terms of the economy. Then he said also some negative things in terms of what's going on elsewhere. But the primary point was to talk about North Korea. Because we would love to have his help on North Korea. China is helping, Russia is not helping. We'd like to have Russia's help, very important," he said.

Russia and North Korea have not addressed Trump's latest comment involving their two nations and the alleged cooperation to evade sanctions.

United States is also conducting major drills to prepare for the possible war against North Korea. The U.S. is also planning to increase its own nuclear program.

The year 2018 did not start so well with U.S. and North Korea's relationship with both leaders reminding each other about nuclear buttons on their desks. During his New Year speech, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un stated that North Korea's nuclear arsenal is capable of reaching United States' mainland and that the button is sitting on his desk. Trump retaliated with a tweet saying he also has a nuclear button on his desk and that his "button works."
