Digital technology helping to fulfil 'Great Commission'

The Proclaimer digital Bible is one of the audio Scripture resources provided by Faith Comes By Hearing

The organisation behind the world's largest source of digital Scripture content is hoping to reach an audience of billions around the world.

Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) launched the Digital Bible Platform just over three years ago, and has seen exponential growth in the number of people accessing content, currently in the region of hundreds of millions.

Utilising digital technology, FCBH is sharing the Bible with ministry partners all over the globe to make Scripture available to all.

Its quality audio recordings in 763 languages mean that millions of people are hearing the Gospel in their own language.

Faith Comes By Hearing is utilising multiple outlets like streaming, websites, podcasts, Deaf Bible apps and its multilingual Bible.is platform to give free access to Scripture content.

In the past year, FCBH has also expanded into internet radio and has reported over 39 million streams through iTunes radio and Spotify among other outlets.

More recently, a partnership has been forged with SAT-7, the largest Christian satellite broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa, which aims to reach previously isolated countries and regions with vital news and information as well as the Gospel.

Troy Carl, FCBH vice president and architect of the Digital Bible Platform, says, "Everyday seems to bring a new technology or a new platform and a brand-new audience that now has access to God's Word in their own language."

The organisation has noted that for the first time in history, every language group has been identified and there are 6,809 in the world today. FCBH's goal is to record and provide Audio New Testaments in every translated language.

Carl refers to Jesus' command to "Go and make disciples of all nations".

He says: "Between new technologies, an ever-growing library of Bible content in hundreds of languages and working hand-in-hand with like-minded ministries, it is not an overstatement to say that the Great Commission can be fulfilled in this generation."
