Bungie keeps on updating its futuristic, space-age shooter "Destiny." Fresh from releasing updates to celebrate Year Two of the massive online shooter and the rollout for the game's third expansion, "The Taken King," the studio is now preparing to expand and improve content even more with another new update, 2.0.1.

According to the weekly update on Bungie's website, the update 2.0.1 for "Destiny" will introduce new improvements to the game, as well as balancing out certain features, particularly for weapons. When update 2.0.1 rolls out, it will introduce more balanced perks and features for shotgun weapons. Highlighting the change, Bungie senior designer Jon Weisnewski said, "One piece of community feedback that has been unanimous is that the changes to Shotgun perks were not enough to curb their lethality at extreme ranges in the Crucible."

With the update, shotgun weapons will now be more fine-tuned, with the Shot Package perk removed. Weisnewski assures players, however, that even with the perk removed, the shotgun is still a lethal weapon, particularly for Guardians who prefer close quarter combat. He said, "Most PVP maps have great flank routes and tight spaces. Game modes like Control, Salvage, and Rift ask players to converge upon and fight over small spaces to win. With or without Shot Package, even our shortest range Shotguns will continue to be effective death dealers in the hands of a skilled Guardian."

Weisnewski also added that the team may still reintroduce the perk after some tests and feedback.

In addition to the weapon tuning, Bungie also announced that Guardians who play until December will receive additional bonus Silver, which can be used as currency for the microtrasactions that Bungie will be introducing via the new Eververse Trading feature. Items that players can purchase with Silver include emotes, and update 2.0.1 added at least 18 new emotes for Guardians to choose from.
