Activision's Destiny will get a sequel pretty soon after CEO Eric Hirshberg bared that the next full game in the Destiny franchise is currently in production. With the success and growing following, the continued development leading to Destiny 2 was easily expected.

And with a 10-year vision for Destiny game franchise declared before, reports have it that the next installment will have a Lord of the Rings kind of narrative.

And apparently the number of users and financial returns has had something to do with it. A total of 9.5 million registered users and active players are believed to spend at least three hours a day playing the game and the franchise continues to gain ground.

Back in September, Activision reported that about $325 million worth of products were sold in just five days.

So when can Destiny fans and gamers expect Destiny 2? Rumors suggest that many may have to wait until 2016 to see what the sequel will have to offer.

According to Venturebeat, the sequel will carry over from Destiny (1). That means characters from the first installment can be used in the new one once it officially comes out. This includes players being able to make the transition as well from Destiny to Destiny 2.

For gamers who have yet to try Destiny, you can start checking out what makes the game so hot that many are eagerly awaiting the sequel.

The game is available for popular gaming consoles like the PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. So if you haven't yet, it may be best to get a feel of the game and see why many people are raving so much about this game.

And if you like it as well, you can line up and wait for the next installment, something that many are already doing as we speak.
