Bungie's space-age futuristic shooter "Destiny" will be entering its second year of existence. Building up the hype for its anniversary, the game studio entices fans with details on how "Destiniy 2.0" will change the title's overall gameplay and mechanics.

In the weekly updates on the company's website, Bungie listed down some new details about the upcoming Year 2. Community Manager David Dague, more popularly known as DeeJ, also brought gamers up to speed via the official US PlayStation Blog

Most noted among the many changes and improvements for "Destiny" will be the addition of a new Raid and a Crucible mission. To satisfy fans who cannot wait for the rollout of the second year of "Destiny," Bungie will be initiating a Crucible Preview Event from Sept. 8 to 14, a day before the release of the third expansion, "The Taken King" DLC.

Since the event only serves as a preview to the new Crucible called Court of Oryx, there will be limitations to how the modes will be played, such as Guardians only able to do battles via techniques and weapons as class Super abilities will be temporarily turned off. The new Crucible content will be fully unlocked when the "The Taken King" rolls out.

Meanwhile, the release of the third expansion will also introduce players to a new Raid called the King's Fall. However, Guardians will have to wait a little bit longer since King's Fall will not be available on Day One. Instead, it will be unlocked on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Along with the new challenges, a host of other improvements and gameplay enhancement will also be introduced once "The Taken King" is released and "Destiny" gets updated for Year 2. Maximum character levels for all players will be raised to 34, while the level cap for class-specific upgrades will be raised to 40 with "The Taken King."

"Destiny: The Taken King" DLC will be released on Sept. 15, which will officially mark the end of Year One.
