Denver Nuggets NBA 2015 news, rumors: Ty Lawson in team clean up?

There is talk that the Denver Nuggets could be cleaning house soon and at the top of the list are the high-salaried stars which could be traded and gone. That list even includes Ty Lawson, a bright spot for the Nuggets last season.

It seems that the Nuggets are taking their cue from teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks in freeing up their cap space for future draft picks and free agents. Such should not be surprising.

The Nuggets haven't exactly had a superb season, finishing 12th in the Western Conference standings. And of course like many underperforming teams, the Nuggets are re-evaluating their stance and it looks like clearing their cap space and selecting players who will remain is next on the agenda.

Players how are rumored to be on the trading block include Ty Lawson and Danilo Galinari. To date, there is no word if the Nuggets would join the free agent frenzy which includes Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge or even DeAndre Jordan so from the looks of it, they may go for mid-salaried players who have potential and of course some of the incoming rookie hopefuls.

Another issue the Nuggets have to address is their head coaching position. After firing Brian Shaw, the Nuggets are still in search for a new one. The Nuggets are in the same vote of the Orlando Magic although a name mentioned before was Mike D' Antoni.

Tied up with the D'Antoni rumor is the Nuggets could make a go at re-signing disgruntled guard Jeremy Lin.

Lin is not expected to be re-signed and Denver could be a destination. If Lawson does get traded, Lin could fill in the void. And everyone knows the chemistry between D'Antoni and Lin, recalling the time Linsanity broke out in New York.

A lot of teams will surely be interested in Lawson, particularly the ones in need of a reliable playmaker. If the Nuggets trade Lawson (officially) expect a lot of teams knocking at the Nuggets' door.
