'Deadpool' movie release date, latest news: Morena Baccarin joins cast, Deadpool's face uncertain

"Deadpool" is all set and ready to go. Ryan Reynolds is ecstatic about the film, which he described as a movie that took 11 years to prepare. And while he admitted that they are faced with budget constraints, they remain unfazed in making "Deadpool" one of the best anti-hero movies ever.

The test footage went viral the moment it was uploaded online. With the views and attention it got, there was no question that a "Deadpool" solo movie was something that must happen. From then on, Reynolds, director Tim Miller and the rest of the team was given the go signal.

"Deadpool" will start filming on March 23 and will hit theaters on Feb. 12, 2016, which isn't really bad. The movie is just a year away, unlike the long wait fans have to endure with other Marvel superhero movies.

Moreover, a recent casting update was released just last Thursday. Morena Baccarin, who impressed everyone with her role in "Homeland," is confirmed to be the leading lady of Deadpool. Alongside Reynolds and Baccarin, T.J. Miller has also signed up for the movie.

There is much excitement surrounding Reynolds' reprisal of the role. Deadpool first appeared in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" as Slade Wilson, whose mouth was all sewn up. The fans were left disappointed because Wilson is actually a foul-mouthed character who'd curse all the time, which the test footage clearly depicted.

In "Deadpool," it is highly doubtful that Wilson will have his mouth sewn together again since the test footage was a preview of what's to come. But it does leave one more question, what will Deadpool look like now?

Movie Pilot aired this concern earlier in the week. In the comics, Deadpool's face is disfigured as a result of Weapon X's treatment for his cancer. But when "Deadpool" creator Rob Leifeld posted a concept art on Facebook, the piece of work showed Reynolds' face without any disfigurement. So, is Deadpool going to sport the actor's handsome face? Will the character's face be shown frequently in the film?

The other question is, will 20th Century Fox stick to the comics, or will they give Wilson's face a complete makeover to please the general audience? After all, "Deadpool" was given a PG13 rating, which also got mixed reactions from the fans.
