David and Goliath director says he will not make same mistakes as Noah and Exodus movies

Director Tim Chey promised that David and Goliath movie wi(Facebook/David and Goliath Movie)ll be biblically accurate.

Director Tim Chey promised that he will create a biblically accurate movie in David and Goliath and vowed not to make the same mistakes as blockbuster films Noah and Exodus: Gods and Kings.

"Well first off, I'm not only a director, but also an evangelist. So obviously, I'm not going to make a film that's biblically not correct or does not give honour to the Lord," he said.

"There are no rock monsters helping David unfortunately. But kidding aside, I wanted to make a film that will reinvigorate the kind of faith the future King of Israel had, namely fighting a giant with a zero percent chance of defeating him outside of God."

Chey hopes to change how the world thinks and inspire people to fight for God, even if it means battling a Goliath. He said that he has a pastor friend who lamented that nobody in his large church would be brave enough to face Goliath today, and Chey called it a "sad testament to the state of our faith today."

The little known actor Miles Sloman will be playing the role of King David in the film, and Chey said he instantly knew that Sloman would be perfect for the role when he saw him audition.

"This was the young King David who could defeat the giant warrior. He showed a lot of courage on the set even falling off a donkey when the helicopter came too close," shared Chey.

At the same time, he called another new actor Jerry Sokolosky, who is also the tallest man in Canada, "a tremendous blessing" in taking on the role of the evil Philistine giant Goliath, who will challenge David to fight.

"We didn't want to create a CGI imitation like 'The Incredible Hulk' and so our casting directors set out to find the biggest guy and he's very big," he said.

Chey said he is very excited to create a "biblically accurate film about one of the most incredible stories in the Bible." The movie is expected to hit movie theatres this March 2015.
