Sadie Robertson has asked her fans to pray for a 9-year-old girl fighting for her life with a brain tumor.

Robertson is currently whirling up a storm on Dancing with the Stars but she put her training and rehearsal schedule to one side to tell her fans on Twitter and Instagram about Haley and ask for their prayers.

"Hey everyone meet Haley, a precious little girl going through a big battle," she told her followers.

The last year and a half has been a time of ups and downs for Haley. A tumor on her brain stem was first spotted by doctors in January 2013 and she underwent surgery a few weeks later before starting a course of chemotherapy.

Another tumor developed as the year went on and in February 2014 she was diagnosed with stage 3 anaplastic astrocytoma.

After six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, the MRI showed that one tumor had disappeared and the other had stopped growing.

But last month, another MRI revealed new tumor growth on the brain stem and the growth of more tumors, meaning Haley had to resume chemotherapy.

A Facebook page has been set up to rally support for her and the Robertson family from reality TV show Duck Dynasty are among those getting behind her.

Sadie quoted from Psalm 23 as she asked people to get behind Haley with prayer: "We all go through battles in life & they can get really difficult. Although they are hard battles became [sic] way easier when you have a lot of people with you. Pray for this sweet little girl & write comments of encouragement. I believe God is bigger than all of our battles."
