Dallas Mavericks NBA 2015 trade news, rumors: Can Dallas grab Marc Gasol?

Can Mark Cuban of the Dallas Mavericks whip up something that will be hard to turn down?

Marc Gasol is expected to get crazy offers in the offseason though many feel that the effort could be wasteful. Gasol has made no indication that he wants to bolt the Memphis Grizzlies and the team is expected to do everything necessary to make sure that the Spaniard stays with the squad.

However, that notion doesn't seem to bother the Mavericks who are reportedly ready to offer Gasol a max contract. The Mavericks are in line to woo in Gasol, the other being the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks.

Of the teams in mention, it seems that the Mavs and the Knicks have the best chances of wooing Gasol. The Lakers have a history that could sway Gasol (think Pau Gasol) to shun their offer while the Spurs seem more inclined to pursue LaMarcus Aldridge. All that however could change depending on the Spanish center who has spent his entire career in Memphis.

One thing that the Mavericks can gloat about is the fact that they have been up there competitively. They have always been known to get past the NBA regular season with the 2010-11 season perhaps their best yet since this was the year they copped their first-ever NBA title when they shocked the world by defeating the Lebron James-led Miami Heat in six games.

The question now is whether the Grizzlies could be on the same track. Memphis has been home for Gasol and it may take a lot to pry him away from the Grizzlies. Money is something the team could address but an NBA ring could be a problem at least for now.

The Mavs aren't so hot either as they find themselves trying to rebuild once more. Dirk Nowitzki is still around but Father Time is fast catching up. Would Marc Gasol be interested in playing with Nowitzki for a couple of years and then take over?

That remains to be seen as the Spaniard has remained mum on his plans though it is looking a lot likely he would stay in Memphis for now.
