After 10 seasons, "Criminal Minds" is still doing great. There's no sign of the show being cancelled anytime soon, which just proves how awesome the writers are behind the show. And speaking of the writers, they've penned a great episode that will air this week.

CarterMatt also shares an enthusiasm over episode 13, which is titled "Nelson's Sparrow." In this episode, Rossi and Gideon's past will be revisited. Rossi has to refer to his old cases to try and catch a killer. Further, this episode is more of a special since it was written by someone from the cast.

Fans have been waiting for a time to see Gideon again, a character played by Many Patinkin. He appeared in the early seasons of the show and hasn't returned since. Now, Gideon will be seen again, but he will be played by another actor, "Boy Meets World's" Ben Savage.

Savage will play the younger Gideon as the episode will be leaning toward flashbacks. Here's the official synopsis of "Nelson's Sparrow":

"The BAU will revisit its origins when they look at one of Rossi and Gideon's old cases to track a killer that got away. Series star Kirsten Vangsness co-wrote the episode with Erica Messer, one of the series' executive producers. Ben Savage ("Girl Meets World," "Boy Meets World") guest stars as young Gideon, and Arye Gross ("Castle," "Ellen") guest stars as Donnie Mallick."

The previous episode, which was directed by Joe Mantegna, also put the spotlight on Rossi's character. And seeing that episode 13 will also be about him, it's going to be a fun ride getting to know more of Rossi, which is something fans are really looking for.

"Criminal Minds" season 10 episode 13 will air on Jan. 28 on CBS. For a quick look at the upcoming episode, do watch this.
