Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has been taking a hit from religious conservatives for promoting the "H-agenda" above what they consider to be more important matters.
The backlash came in the wake of a video entitled "Getting Started" which marked Clinton's announcement to run for president.
While most scenes focused on the hopes of regular Americans to begin different ventures, one scene showing two men holding hands and talking about their impending marriage, drew the ire of pro-family advocates who believe that Clinton's campaign strategy is deliberately courting the gay population.
Analysts also slammed the ad's emphasis on same sex couples compared to traditional families, and the fact that most of the diverse couples featured in the ad were not wearing wedding bands.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said that Clinton's announcement was more focused on the "homosexual agenda" instead of addressing issues like the weak economy or Islamic terrorism, reported LifeSite.
"Over her long career as a senator and America's top diplomat, Hillary Clinton has been a global advocate for abortion-on-demand and the complete demolition of the natural family, making her anything but an ally of children or the family," he said.
American Family Association's Sandy Rios expressed disdain for the presidential hopeful's longstanding emphasis on gay rights.
"Please keep in mind that Hillary Clinton was one of the first public officials to push this whole notion of embracing homosexuality. I would never forget my own personal shock in the late '90s when there was a women's conference in Beijing and Hillary Clinton was in charge and they brought in women from all over the world at this UN conference, and the emphasis for the American delegation under Hillary's tutelage was on lesbianism," Rios said in an interview with RightWingWatch.
Meanwhile, Focal Point host Bryan Fischer said Clinton's campaign is intended to ensure a lock on the 2.3 per cent of Americans who belong to the LGBT population.
"The point here quite simply is that GOP candidates must realise that there is no possible way for them to out-pander a hard-core liberal like Hillary on homosexuality. She will be able to trump them every time. So there's no point in even trying. She will always be able to make one more promise than you will, simply because there is no logical place for her to stop," he said.
