Chris Pratt and Anna Faris divorce news: Couple cite irreconcilable differences

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris officially file for divorce, almost four months after announcing their separation.

According to People, the 38-year-old "Jurassic World" actor officially filed for divorce on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences. Reports added that the 41-year-old "Scary Movie" star immediately followed suit, citing the same case.

Both parents are asking joint custody of their five-year-old son Jack, as well as spousal support.

According to reports, the couple signed a pre-nuptial agreement and are close to reaching a final settlement. They listed July 13 as date of separation, that is a month prior to the public announcement that they were separating.

They announced that they were legally separating last Aug. 7, via Pratt's official Facebook page.

In the post, the couple said that they are "sad" to share the news. "We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed." They added that moving forward, they want to keep the "situation as private as possible" for the sake of their son. "We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another," the post said.

A source later told E! News that the main reason for their separation was the change in Pratt's attitude. "His fame changed their dynamic publicly and in private." The insider added that Faris "lost her voice" as well as her self-esteem as a result. Their difference in parenting style also reportedly added to the growing rift in their relationship.

While the former couple mostly kept their separation proceedings private, they did not shy away from the public with their own individual lives.

The teaser trailer for Pratts upcoming "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" was just recently released.

Faris, on the other hand, is rumored to have a new man in her life. The actress has been spotted in several dinner dates with cinematographer Michael Barrett. The filmmaker reportedly worked with Faris in her upcoming 2018 flick "Overboard."
