After more than a full decade of being a co-host at the entertainment news program, E! Entertainment, Catt Sadler has resigned from her post. However, Sadler stated last Tuesday, Dec. 19, that the main reason for her departure is the signifigant gap in her salary compared to that of her male co-worker, Jason Kennedy. Although on social media, it seems like Sadler parted ways with the program on amicable terms, other reports would beg to differ.

As she was headed toward exiting E! Entertainment, Sadler revealed that Kennedy was making double the amount of her salary despite the two achieving comparable success with one another through the years. According to People, Kennedy's wife, and fashion journalist, Lauren Scruggs, could not help but publicly defend her husband regarding the issue of the alleged pay gap disputes.

This is mainly due to the fact that Kennedy has been scrutinized publicly, and especially on social media, ever since the news broke out. The 29-year-old Scruggs stated that she is a big supporter of empowerment for women, but she stands firm that Sadler's comments are very far from the truth. In addition to that, Scruggs stated there had been a case before wherein a former female co-host, Giuliana Rancic, was earning three times more than Kennedy.

In other news, other famous female personalities are applauding Sadler's actions for leaving E! Entertainment after she had made her discovery. According to reports, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain, and Olivia Munn are among the actresses who have expressed their support for Sadler's decision to leave. These actresses have been known previously to expressing their discontent for the disparity in salary in the entertainment business.

It is notable to mention that Sadler urged her fans to not point the blame toward Kennedy when she revealed on her social media page the issue of the wage gap. Sadler stated that Kennedy has done no wrong toward her, and that mutual respect exists between the two. She then told her fans to direct their anger toward the "decision makers" behind the issue.
