"Castle" is taking Richard and Kate to a late-night sketch show after the series went soaring up in the air in last week's installment. The detective duo is going to solve a case involving the death of a "powerful" creator of a long-running sketch comedy show.

This episode titled "Dead From New York" shows that Castle's and Beckett's career is as colorful as it is dangerous. The pair is called to solve the mystery behind the murder of Sid Ross, the originator of a fictional comedy show titled "Saturday Night Tonight," which, needless to say, is blatantly the series' version of the real-life comedy sketch show "Saturday Night Live."

Being the best in what they do, Castle and Beckett, as the synopsis reveals, manage to dig up "a shocking secret" that may lead them right to Sid's murderer. Presumably, former "Family Matters" actor Jaleel White's stint in the installment has something to do with it.

White plays the role of Mickey Franks, who is described as "a larger-than-life sketch comedy star with a tendency toward outrageous — and possibly homicidal — behavior." But before they get to know more about him, Castle and Beckett meet Carly Rae Jepsen.

The "Call Me Maybe" singer, who guest stars in the episode as herself, sings her single "I Really Like You" on "Saturday Night Tonight." She sang the same song in the real-life comedy sketch show, too.

This installment is expected to be another exciting episode. Apart from its take on such a distinctive story, its pair of guest stars is bound to add more  fun and thrill to the detectives' sleuthing, proving the series' love for storylines that do not last more than a single episode.

"Castle" season 7 episode 22 "Dead From New York" will air on May 4.
