Marvel fans finally know what Daniel Bruhl will be up to in the upcoming superhero film "Captain America: Civil War." The actor will be one of Steve Rogers' adversaries in the film viewers will come to know as Baron Zemo.

"With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes," producer Kevin Feige said, as quoted by Marvel's website.

There are, however, two Zemos in the Marvel universe. One is named Baron Heinrich Zemo who only appeared in flashbacks on "The Avengers #4," while the other is called Baron Helmut Zemo who showed up in "Captain America #168." It remains to be seen which one Bruhl will portray but there are high chances that it is the latter he'll be taking on.

He does not appear in the "Civil War" storyline, but the baddie showed up in the events subsequent to that. Many speculations suggest that Iron Man will be a scoundrel in this film and it looks like the billionaire superhero will in fact channel his inner villain in "Captain America: Civil War." The aftermath of "Civil War" in the comics shows Iron Man assembling a league of enemies, one of which is Baron Zemo. However, in a complete turnaround, the bad guy switches to Captain America's side.

Baron Zemo sports a disfigured face after a battle with Captain America, who he believes murdered his father. The villain, who avenged his father and vowed to kill the Cap, dropped into a boiling pot of extra-strong bonding material Adhesive X, which badly maimed his face.

"Captain America: Civil War" is also said to see the demise of the mighty American soldier. Upon his death, his legacy will be preserved by Falcon and Bucky as the two will take care of his shield.

"Captain America: Civil War" will hit the big screen on May 6, 2016.
