Billy Graham says God does not mind Christians indulging in leisure activities

Many Christians feel guilty when they spend their free time indulging in leisure activities as opposed to devoting all of their time to God.

But world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham says God does not mind when His children enjoy recreational hobbies and activities.

"God doesn't look down on you just because you enjoy activities that aren't directly related to your church (as long as they're honorable). Remember: Jesus was attending a wedding celebration when He performed His first miracle," he writes in an advice column for the Bowling Green Daily News.

Graham wants people to reflect where God truly stands in their lives. "Do you see Him as someone you think about for an hour or so at church – and then ignore the rest of the week? Is He only one of your many interests and concerns? Or is He at the center of your lives, influencing everything you do?" he asks.

He prays that people will answer those questions honestly, and do something about the answers that bother them.

"Life's greatest joy comes from knowing God loves us and doing His will. He loves us so much that Jesus Christ, His only Son, gave His life for our salvation," he says. "By a simple prayer of faith commit your lives to Him as your Saviour and Lord. Then make Christ the centre of your lives every day."

Graham then shares the Bible verse John 6:40. It reads: "Everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life."

When people finally awaken to the truth that is Jesus Christ, Graham urges them to commit their days to the Lord and ask for His guidance.

"As you go through the day, turn to Him for wisdom and help. And when the day ends, thank Him for being with you. In addition, ask Him to help you serve Him and learn from His Word through your church," he says.
