'The Big Bang Theory' season 8 spoilers: Aliens declare war, Penny returns to acting in episode 21 'The Communication Deterioration'?

Sheldon and the gang are about to meet extraterrestrial creatures in the upcoming episode of "The Big Bang Theory" titled "The Communication Deterioration," and it is guaranteed to bring a barrel of laughs as the group quarrel over what to do in the event aliens show up.

In the episode, NASA enlists Raj to develop a message for extraterrestrials, but the task gets a little out of hand when the guys squabble on how it should go down. With this, Raj gets help from Leonard as he thinks Sheldon and Howard will take over the life-changing project. Leonard even complains to Raj about how two of their pals can become alpha males.

As the guys push through with their chosen team-ups, they find out that they have the same idea. So in turn, the group finally agrees to work in partnership.

However, as they do magic in acting as a team, a celestial-wide trouble arises. Unfortunately, aliens exist and they see one of Sheldon's videos, which they interpret as a declaration of war. Needless to say, the intergalactic creatures do not plan to back out and they formulate their plan to destroy Earth.

Meanwhile in the alien-less aspect of things, Penny is sandwiched in a big dilemma of choosing between keeping her pharmaceutical job on the rise or going back to pursuing her life-long dream to become an actress. This predicament is brought up when an audition for a Kevin Smith film opens. It looks like Penny has not altogether abandoned her dream and indeed, takes a stab at getting a part in the film. During the auditions, she gets the chance to talk to other actresses in the business.

Whether or not this conversation is life-changing enough for her to get out of the pharmacy trade remains to be seen, but everything will be revealed when "The Big Bang Theory" season 8 returns with episode 21 "The Communication Deterioration" on April 16.
