More surprises are coming to fans in "Better Call Saul" season 2. This is what series co-creator Vince Gilligan promised during Variety's recently concluded TV Summit. Shying away from film, six out of 10 episodes for the new season have already been shot with "cutting edge RED digital camera."

"I think what happens next is actually going to surprise people," Gilligan said. "It's not what we thought it would be."

The new season will see the birth of Saul and the team finds this imminent transformation bittersweet.

"The fact that people have embraced Bob's performance as Jimmy McGill and really gotten into this character, the audience feels the same as us, which is that we love him so much, we're a little bit sad he's going to turn into Saul Goodman," co-creator Peter Gould said. "There's something tragic about the fact that this guy who is so open-hearted and essentially a decent person becomes this drug lawyer. It creates a lot of tension in the show."

Up until now, the team is still in awe of the fans' positive reception and continued support for the "Breaking Bad" spin-off.

"I'm just glad it just didn't take an enormous dump when it came out," Gilligan said. "That was very gratifying for me."

Supervising producer Gennifer Hutchinson, who described the show as something "really weird" and "different from what's out there," is amazed that "Better Call Saul" won "Breaking Bad" fans once more and even earned many more who are unfamiliar with its parent series.

Meanwhile, Gould said that he wants to see the Kettlemans in "Better Call Saul" season 2. Gilligan, on the other hand, confessed to Daily News that seeing Bryan Cranston's iconic character Walter White one more time "would be great," adding that "it would be a shame if the show had its run — hopefully a very long run — and he never appeared."

It is still unknown if they will, however. But what's guaranteed is that Rhea Seehorn's Kim Wexler will be back for more as the team wants to explore more about the original character.
