'Better Call Saul' season 2 spoilers: more Nacho appearances

Bob Odenkirk plays the role of Jimmy McGill before he became Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman Facebook

In the face of the massive success of "Breaking Bad," series creator Vince Gilligan was once filled with anxiety in making the epic spin-off for the series. But by the end of "Better Call Saul's" first run, the gracious reception to the spin-off proved that his talents are far greater than his apprehensions.

However, making season 2 for the series stimulates the same nerves and worries on Gilligan about the viewers' would-be response. This is especially nerve-racking because there is that pressure to do as good as or better than the already ultra stellar freshman run.

"I always feel like the next time around — for instance the next season of Better Call Saul — could be the one when people finally say 'This guy sucks.' Here's hoping that won't happen," the show creator said during his recent Reddit AMA in answer to a fan. "I can tell you for a fact that that fear drives me and Peter Gould to make sure that Season 2 will be every bit as good as Season 1."

Needless to say, Gilligan and his team's goal now is to make the show's action-packed scenes and original storylines consistently good.

During the Reddit AMA, Gilligan also touched on Nacho's too little time in spotlight in season 1. He admitted that they "thought that Nacho would be more present in season 1" and that they love Michael Mando, who plays the character, very much.

"This is a great example of how – like it or not – a television story takes on a life of its own," Gilligan said. "As a writer, you have to follow the thread of the story you're writing, even if that means spending less time with certain characters."

He also added that Jimmy and Chuck had juicier stories to tell, which, in turn, made "it hard to fit in more great moments from Nacho." But in the end, the trailer for the series makes a promise saying "don't despair, you'll be seeing much more of Nacho in Season 2. You heard it here first!"

"Better Call Saul" season 2 will debut in early 2016.
