Disney is set to unveil a live-action remake of the 1991 animation classic 'Beauty and the Beast' and prior to this report, Emma Watson was the only confirmed actress that would be cast in it to play Belle.

Now, reports have it that Ryan Gosling has been offered the part to play the Beast, something that is different from the usual movie roles that the popular actor has taken on so far.

Gosling, who actually started his career with Walt Disney when he was part of the Mickey Mouse Club in 1993-95, has so far appeared in various action, comedy and drama flicks. That includes the 'Gangster Squad' and 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' and 'Remember the Titans' so this upcoming role offered to him could be something interesting in case he does accept the offer.

While it does seem likely that Gosling would accept the role, having started and starred in Disney Films before, the question on would the Canadian actor would take on a live-action rendition and different kind of a role comes into mind.

Apparently this has something to do with the last couple of films Gosling took on where he has taken on dramatically dark roles. But expectations are high especially considering that Gosling has a four-month-old daughter Esmeralda Amanda Gosling with wife Eva Mendes who would certainly love seeing her dad take part in such a timeless and classic movie kids will surely love to watch.

For her part, Emma Watson could not hide her excitement on playing Belle where she is expecting to dance and sing similar to how the 1991 classic story came about.

Gosling should have no problems singing and dancing too. Aside from the Mickey Mouse Club, Gosling had a solo recording titled 'Put Me in the Car' back in 2007 and is no stranger when it comes to doing the things many would expect from the live version.

So will he accept? The chances of that happening look pretty positive.
