In the newest "Battlefield: Hardline" game, progression, especially in multiplayer, is almost proportional to how much in-game cash a player makes. This is part of the new progression system, where instead of earning experience points or rated scores for completed actions, players earn in-game cash which they can use to unlock and buy upgraded weapons and other gadgets. There are also different tactics on how to earn and spend cash in-game, depending on the player's choice of role when playing.
Enforcer
For those who play as enforcer types, it is better to gear up with the SCAR-H and SA-58 early in the game. It is also useful to get the Ballistic Shield, complete with the equipped gas mask and gas grenades.
Since enforcers also mostly go into close quarters combat, it is good to come equipped with the 970p Magnum. This is a shotgun with a good medium-to-close range and packs a wallop in terms of damages. It can also be used to rip apart internal walls, a new feature in the game.
Operator
This type of play is very much helpful for Blood Money, Conquest, and Heists missions. The operator also serves as the medic of the team, so it is best to get the Revive gadget and heal the team behind covers.
Medium range is where the operator is best at. Players can purchase the AKM or M16A3 to maximize range and damage dealt, and partner weapons with a magnified optic.
Professional
Serving as scouts and long range marksmen of the team, professionals often get a rifle. It is up to the player, or the cash he has, if he wants to progress with either a bolt action or an automatic one. If the gamer is dedicated as a professional, it is best to learn Stealth Training first and always have a Camera handy.
Mechanic
The player that is always often overlooked, the mechanic is the best gamer for missions such as Hotwire. The gamer should always have the Repair Tool bought and always check the Battlepacks, as they contain needed Objective boosts.
