'Batman vs Superman' plot: Will Superman meet his doom?

Batman v Superman Warner Bros./DC Entertainment

There isn't much known about "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" except that an epic warfare between the two superheroes will charge in and that "a greater danger" will threaten mankind in the middle of this. Rumor mills have been constantly munching on what or who this is all about.

There are persistent speculations about the inclusion of Doomsday in the highly-anticipated film. Although Lex Luthor is set to be the main adversary in the superhero flick, the supervillain isn't fond of getting his hands dirty, which is why he has a henchmen doing all the bodily work for him. Doomsday is said to be the brawn while Lex Luthor is the brains. The former has all the makings of getting a sinister job done.

In the comics, Doomsday actually killed Superman. The superhero was revived but that the villain managed to slay the Man of Steel is something to take note of. Fans dread that this moment would be played out in the film, with Master Herald saying that Superman may die in the movie.

The site thinks that if Superman dies in the film, then he would at least be brought back to life in other DC Comics movies where he's needed, particularly "Justice League," which is preceded by this film.

Meanwhile, Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzalez has released new promo posters from the film. The first image is a vandalized poster of Superman, plasted with words such as "Superman destroyed Metropolis" and "Lex Luthor is our hero."

Another image shows a poster of Batman, who is believed to be the savior of the city but is wanted by the police for "criminal acts of vigilante justice." A halo has been drawn above his head, showing that people has full confidence that the Dark Knight will save the city.

Gonzalez also shared comic book style artworks from the movie. One is Superman's insignia showing silhouettes of him and Batman fighting. Another is Batman's crest, which shows Wonder Woman as well.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters March 25, 2016.
