Publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer Rocksteady Games have released a patch for the PC version of "Batman: Arkham Knight."

When the game was released last week, most of the fans who have waited eagerly for the last installment in the "Batman Arkham" title were disappointed due to the glitches and bugs found in the PC version. The complaints piled up that online retailers like Steam decided to pull out "Batman: Arkham Knight" off their shelves.

In order to remedy the issue, a micro update was released that targeted fixes to minor bugs in the game such as the one that spasmodically disables rain effects and ambient occlusion while playing the game. In addition, the released patch also corrected the issue that causes the Steam client to re-download the game when verifying the game files.

However, the released patch is only considered as a minor one. Although reports say that a fix is already on the way, developer Rocksteady Games said that updates would be incremental to quickly fix some issues in the PC version, since a major update would still take some time. Writing on the official Warner Bros. Interactive forums, community admin Yornick said

"Rocksteady is leading our team of developers and partners as we work on the PC performance issues that players have been encountering.

"The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place."

Overall, the major update planned for the PC version will address all the glitches and bugs found in the title, aside from improving over-all performance and introducing support for frame rates above 30 frames per second in the title's graphics settings. Specifically, the major update will bring improvements to system memory and VRAM usage, update drivers for players with Nvidia and AMD graphics cards, and address full screen rendering bug on gaming laptops.

No details yet on when the major overhaul will be done, but fans hope that the big update will arrive soon.
