'Bachelorette (2015)' season 11 spoilers: Nick vs Shawn competition heats up

Nick, Kaitlyn and Shawn ABC

Shawn Booth feels like something funny is up but can't quite put his finger on it. Despite not knowing what is going on, his insecurity skyrockets to new heights leading him right to Kaitlyn's doorstep for her to shed some light on the situation. Indeed, in the next "The Bachelorette" season 11 episode, Kaitlyn drops the bomb.

It isn't easy for the dance instructor to confess to Shawn how her night with Nick Viall in Dublin went. As the two talk, with Kaitlyn marshalling all the courage she needs to spill the beans, Nick shows up and barges in.

Nevertheless, Shawn, who is seen as the frontrunner in the show, learns of the shocking truth and detests it. As Entertainment Weekly pointed out, Shawn has a profound abhorrence toward Nick, who basically ruined his impressive run to become Kaitlyn's new love in "The Bachelorette" season 11.

"Shawn just couldn't get over it. He was obsessed," a source told Entertainment Weekly. "He was more upset that it was Nick than anything else. He asked Kaitlyn, 'Why him?' He didn't understand why, out of all the guys, it was Nick she had to sleep with."

Nick showing up in the middle of the competition wasn't at all cool for Shawn. And of all the guys there, Kaitlyn had to choose Nick. The insider even added that Nick and Shawn never mended their strained relationship toward each other.

"Nick felt he had tried to get to know him and was rebuffed at every turn," the source revealed. "He didn't have any respect for the way Shawn was handling himself. Shawn never gave him a chance."

Season 11 still has five guys competing for Kaitlyn's heart but it looks like the gung ho rivalry is only shared between the two. There are speculations that these two would end up contending until the end of the show.

A new "The Bachelorette" season 11 episode airs July 6.
