Anime viewing folks who are waiting for the next season of Attack on Titan may have to wait another full year after reports bare that the Japanese anime won't be back on air until 2016.

Apparently everything has been put on hold as the production team tried to complete volumes 14 and 15 of the Japanese anime series. A consolation of sorts is that a second anime compilation titled "Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom will arrive in June, 2015.

For the people who are not yet familiar on the manga series, the story revolves around the adventures of Eren Yeager, adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and friend Armin Arlert. After witnessing a horrifying attack by Titans on their hometown, Shinganshina, the three enlist for the army with the vow to kill all Titans.

Five years after, Eren is eaten by a Titan but would later reincarnate into a Titan himself. Eren allies himself with the human race to fight of Titans but would later on be taken in by the Survey Corps of Captian Levi as he faces trial.

A female Titan enters the picture, with the intent of freeing Eren. As it turns out, the female titan is Annie, a former cadet who mentored Eren in fighting. As it turns out, there is a way for them to turn into Titans which are referred to as coordinate.

Both Eren and Annie would eventually be used as bait by the Survey Corps, only to be captured by current King, Rod Reiss. Reiss reveals that a Titan was actually responsible for the putting up the walls 100 years ago which modified the memories of the inhabitants.

The light novel is an interesting manga series to follow and with the plot summary given above, it may be interesting to see how this saga evolves come 2016.
