Apple and Google, two of United States' biggest technology giants, are under attack from unknown perpetrators.
Charter buses transporting Apple and Google employees from San Francisco to Silicon Valley have been under mysterious attacks in the past week.
These buses has had their windows shatterd by unknown objects, while going on highway speeds between Woodside Road and Route 25.
"We're not certain what caused the damage at this time, but we're not ruling anything out," said CHP officer Art Montiel in an interview with NBC news.
He added that the most likely instrument used was a pellet gun, as he ruled out any high-powered rifle.
Luckily, the incidents were relatively minor. No employee has been hurt so far, and the window destruction has not caused any major accident.
Still, Apple would rather be safe than sorry. In an email acquired by Mashable, the company has already notified its employees that the charter buses will start taking a different route, one that will add about 30-45 minutes in travel time.
"As always, the safety of our employees is our first priority," the tech company said in the e-mail.
There have been five incidents of bus attacks in the recent week alone, with four targeting Apple employees and aiming at Google.
The attacks happened both in the morning, when employees were on the way to work, and at night, when they were going home.
This, however, is not the first time an attack was launched against Silicon Valley companies.
The rise of tech giants in the Silicon Valley and their growing number of workers have had a bad effect on residents from nearby towns.
Back in 2013, a Google shuttle also had its tires slashed and windows broken. Later that year, an Apple bus was delayed when it was stopped by protesters carrying "Eviction Free San Francisco."
