The Asus ZenFone 2 is making its way to India. The device, which first astounded the tech community during the Consumer Electronics Show in January for its hefty package and small price tag, will arrive in the country on April 13.

The new device has several variants but for the first phase of its launching, users in India will be able to get the high-end model, which is the Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML.

This unit packs a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, bigger than its 5-inch kinfolk. This display renders a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and a 403 ppi pixel density. Under the hood are varying RAM and memory sizes. Although all its flavors are powered by an Intel Atom Z3580 chipset and a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor as well as 4 GB of RAM, there are 16, 32 and 64 GB storage options. The first two are the ones arriving in India.

Furthermore, it houses a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie snapper. It also comes with a 3000 mAh battery, which can be charged fully in an hour. The handset is priced at $280.

Those who live in the United States can also get the Asus ZenFone 2. However, it is the one with the moniker ZE500CL. As of now, Amazon is the only retailer who has the device on offer and, unfortunately, there is no warranty.

That device is the one with the 5-inch 720p display, 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z256 processor, 16 GB expandable memory and 2 GB RAM. The white-dipped version of the device costs $219 while the black one is priced at $229.

Asus has stuck to its word, releasing its new offering during its promised Q2 time frame. Taiwan and China have already seen the device in the flesh. India will soon get its hands on it, and according to reports, Canada is next.
