Apparently, the Apple Watch will be sharing the spotlight with another of the tech firm's much-awaited offering. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the MacBook Air will be released side by side the wearable in March this year. MacRumors also broached about the possibility of an Apple event on the cards that will drop details on the smartwatch's battery life, pricing and pre-order plans. This is sure to have fans excited as they have been deprived of big details about the Apple Watch since it was announced four months ago.

Kuo went on to say that Apple will be busy with the smartgear with a potential 4 to 5 million shipments for most components in March alone. However, he iterated that some key components will render low production as well, which can ultimately affect the shipping and assembly for the new timepiece. In his note, the analyst also calculated that 2.8 million Apple Watch units will be shipped during the initial quarter.

Detailing more about the Cupertino-based tech firm's future ultra-thin laptop, Kuo claimed that the fan-less 12-inch MacBook Air Retina will be out in the first quarter of the year. This supports previous rumors that have been ardently claiming that Quanta Computer has boosted its production of the device to make it to the purported first quarter unveiling.

The MacBook Air Retina is said to ditch USB ports and MagSafe connectors to be the first device to use the reversible USB Type C connector. Users are also promised of a high-resolution display, with Retina integrated into it. Lastly, as MacRumors stated, a low-power Intel M processor will power the whole thing up.

Kuo also mentioned that iPhone shipments will be soaring in the first quarter of the year, hitting more than what expectations require. The analyst is anticipating that there will be 61 million units shipped within this time frame. However, iPad sales are bound to plummet, Kuo said, predicting sales to be around 10 million only.
