Apple iPod Touch 6G release date coming in September with new iPhones?

The future of the much-awaited iPod touch 6th generation still hangs in the balance as Apple has its focus on its recently released and up and coming offerings. There is the Apple Watch and the new MacBook with Retina display. It was also reported that the Cupertino-based giant is already working on the follow-up to its successful flagship smartphones, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus.

But even with Apple's long list, reports say that there is still room for the iPod touch 6G. Some suggest that by September, the digital musical player will come out alongside the new iPhones and will practically steal the spotlight from there. Others say it won't be out until next year so users will have to wait until the iPhone maker scrapes product after product off its list before it starts working on the next iteration of the legendary iPod touch.

Should the iPod touch 6G hold a future in the Apple draft board, media outlets and fans already have an idea of what it might bring to the table. It will be as generous with color options as its predecessors, with pink, yellow, red, silver, blue and space grey to choose from.  It will also reportedly come out in two models with Retina display — one with a 4.7-inch display, which happens to be the same size as the iPhone 6, and a model that measures 5.5 inches.

There are speculations that it will house an A8 processor and will likely run iOS 9, which should be on its final build when the iPod touch 6th generation comes out. Memory-wise, Apple may be looking at 128 GB max with a microSD slot. Furthermore, an iSight camera may also be included, and the titanic firm will likely make it waterproof. More to the point, the iPod touch 6G might be made water-resistant for a much more durable build and appeal. In addition, it may include Apple's digital assistant Siri.
