In the wake of the World Developers Conference, new reports about the iPhone 7 have emerged, and there has been talk about the company's plans to improve its next flagship's imaging capabilities in certain aspects other than the aperture.

According to a developer named Hamza Sood, the Cupertino-based company is doing a complete makeover on the iPhone 7's Facetime camera by allowing it to capture videos in 1080p and at 240 frames per second slow motion as well as adding a flash and the ability to take panoramic selfies.

This notion came from extracted codes found in the early developer previews of the iOS 9, Apple's latest mobile operating system, which is likely to be on board the upcoming smartphone. As a point of comparison, the current iPhones 6 and 6 Plus only shoot at 720p and they have no flash.

The iPhone 7 is touted to be the first in its array to actually allow users to take great selfies even in the dark. This drastic renovation in the front-facing shooter, according to 9to5 Mac, also has to do with the growing predominance of selfie apps, selfie sticks and the influx of selfie-loving users.

As for the camera on the back of the handset, the aforementioned site claims that the iPhone 6's 8-megapixel shooter will be upped to 12 megapixels for the iPhone 7. Apple is also said to be working on integrating multi-sensor cameras catering to low-light photography.

As for the rest of the specs, Apple isn't ready to stop manufacturing 16 GB-laden iPhones just yet. Apple Worldwide Marketing Senior Vice President Phil Schiller told The Talk Show with John Gruber that users' need for more storage will be taken care of by iCloud, which allows them to save photos, music and documents. This way, iPhone lovers, especially the price-conscious ones, can still go with the standard version of the smartphone and have the capacity to store their files without needing too much in-built storage.

Meanwhile, Know Your Mobile is claiming that Apple will release three new iPhones this year: the standard iPhone 7, a Plus version, and a 7c version. Should all these come to pass, they will be seen in September.
