iPhone 6s, 6s Plus release, specs and features: Phone parts in production, alleged front panel leaked

Production for the new iPhone is reportedly underway, thus leaks are starting to trickle in. Recently, a set of images from Nowhereelse.fr hit the Web, indicating the parts of the handsets are currently being manufactured.

The photos were allegedly taken from a factory, with a worker even pictured. They came from an "informant" who confirmed that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be Apple's next offerings and that the flagships will come both in gold and in silver.

One of the leaked images showcases the iPhone's front panel. Comparing it to the iPhone 6, there aren't visible changes in terms of design. According to Cult of Mac, this should be the case if Apple is indeed working on a new "s" entry.

However, Mac Rumors adds that there should at least be minor design tweaks in the device. The leakster claims that the iPhone in the making feels a lot smoother to grip, which means that Apple could have changed things in some way.

The source of the photos was not able to confirm what the screen will be made of as this could easily reveal if the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus will indeed be the new home of the Force Touch feature, which debuted in the Apple Watch. The new MacBook has the same feature so users are speculating that Apple wouldn't want their iPhone lineup to be left behind.

The rest of the specs of the next-generation iPhone include a more accurate Touch ID, a 12-megapixel primary shooter, twice the RAM, an A9 processor, and longer battery life. A rose gold color option is also expected.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are expected to be unveiled by Apple in September. This month, the Cupertino-based company is rumored to start mass production of the flagships, in time for the projected release.
