Android 5.0 update coming to Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, Note 3 and possibly S3?

For the many users of previous Samsung Galaxy S devices, the time to update to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS is here. That is if you haven't gotten it yet with reports that the latest Android OS has already been applied by select Samsung Galaxy users.

And most likely, people who are hooked up with T-Mobile or Verizon are the ones who have gotten the update already. The update was released by the carriers last February.

But now that Sprint and AT&T have announced that they too would be releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, it should be just a matter of time before all users of Samsung Galaxy models such as the S4, S5, and Note 3 would be getting a dose of the latest Android Lollipop 5.0.

Countries such as India, Poland and Russia have reportedly received the OS update while other regions such as Europe and Asia are expected to get the update soon.

Incidentally one previous Samsung Galaxy S model, the S3 may not be getting the update. Rumors suggest there is no clear indication for now on whether the S3 would be getting the Android update, since it may fall under devices which would not be eligible for the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop changes.

For the users who would be getting the update, changes include Material Design UI, TouchWiz improvements, a new battery saving software, improved notifications, better control of lock screens an Android Smart lock, multiple user support, screen pinning, and other new toggles for the quick settings menu.

To check if you can update your Samsung device, simply head on to the setting and check if the OS is already ready for download.
