News about Samsung's plans on the rollout of Android Lollipop is rampant this week. Users rocking the premium Samsung Galaxy Note 4, however, have to wait a little longer before Google's newest operating system lands on the 5.7-inch handset. This is because the South Korea-based tech firm is still waiting for Oculus to finish tweaks and adjustments that will have Gear VR work smooth in the Galaxy Note 4. This is according to Sam Mobile Editor-In-Chief Faryaab Sheikh, who relayed the news via Twitter.

Gear VR is a virtual reality handset that came out of Samsung's collaboration with Oculus. The product uses in-built sensors of the Galaxy Note 4, which serves as its display. The said device is the first smartphone to ever support the virtual reality handset. Samsung has yet to corroborate on the matter but speculations now suggest that the tweaking should be done this month or the next, and Lollipop will be ready for the Galaxy Note 4 by March.

Meanwhile, according to Android Geeks, owners of the 2013 flagship Galaxy S4 in Russia have finally gotten a taste of Lollipop. The OTA update of the firmware is for the variant with model number GT-I9500. This is the one packed with the Exynos 5 processor. Users of the said device need 3 GB of memory to install the update that comes in a large 1.05 GB size. During the installation process, apps such as Google Play, Books and Movies are deleted for the purpose of optimizing the memory. Nevertheless, users should be able to download these very apps after the transition. In the next weeks, users in other regions should get the update as well.

Lastly, Gotta Be Mobile reports that Android Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy S5 has arrived in the U.S. However, the update is limited to Verizon-distributed models of the 2014 Samsung flagship. The tech firm has rolled out the operating system to the device upon its launch. However, international variants were the only ones that received it. Verizon customers with the Galaxy S5 who have not been prompted to install the update can navigate through the settings of the device and install it from there.
